Our vision is to create a sustainable and just future through environmental learning experiences for all.

We do this by developing funding, policy and program resources to support environmental education programs in Riverside and San Bernardino counties.

Environmental Education

As defined by NAAEE (North American Association of Environmental Education): “Environmental education teaches children and adults how to learn about and investigate their environment, and how to make intelligent and informed decisions about how they can take care of it.”

Collective Impact

Stanford University’s Collaborative Impact model has been the basis and guideline to create a modified geographical version to address the problems relative to sustaining and growing environmental education programs in our two counties. The definition of the Collaborative Impact:

“Social change requires broad, cross-sector coordination. Yet the social sector remains focused on the isolated intervention of individual organizations. Substantially greater progress could be made in alleviating many of our serious and complex social problems and issues if non-profits, governments, businesses and the public were brought together around a common agenda to create collective impact.”

Please contact EECollaborative@gmail.com with any questions about the collaborative.

The EEC is compiling a directory of Environmental Education providers in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties. Sponsorship opportunities are available to highlight your program in this guide.

About

Since 2014, a number of non-profit and K-12 EE providers have been meeting to explore how funding, influence and networking can be improved and affected in the two counties. The group became an EECollaborative Task Force and set about exploring a collaborative approach to address these three EE issues.
